Fulham FC Series
I have supported Fulham Football Club since I was a young boy and sharing the match day experience with fellow supporters has stirred special emotions for me through the few unforgettable good times, and the many not so good, for more than 50 years. The players who we pay to watch come and go. Some have become legends, a few are best forgotten but whether it’s the walk through Bishops Park by the side of the Thames to the unique ground with its listed Cottage in the corner, the squeeze through the turnstiles or the climb up the steps to join the crowd, there are so many things that remain constant and special about going to a match at Craven Cottage, the club’s home for over 120 years.
I am currently working on a series of drawings and paintings that I hope manage to capture at least something of the ordinary and extraordinary corners in and around The Cottage, the atmosphere, the place itself and the characters who congregate here. There really is nowhere else like it.
